Hualalai Resort names executive

Hualalai Resort announced the appointment of Patrick K. Fitzgerald as chief operating officer and executive vice president of Hualalai Development Corporation effective June 1.

Fitzgerald will oversee overall operations as well as housing development at at the Big Island resort. For the past l5 years, Fitzgerald has worked for Ocean Colony Partners at Half Moon Bay in California.



Airline retains best punctuality

The U.S. Department of Transportation has ranked Hawaiian Airlines first in on-time service in March for the 17th consecutive month.

Hawaiian's flights arrived on time 90.5 percent of the time. Hawaiian also had the fewest cancelled flights and the airline industry's second best performance in baggage handling.



Aloha offering child discount

Aloha Airlines is offering a "Keiki Companion Fare" that allows children age 17 or younger traveling inter-island with a parent to fly for 50 percent off the parent's fare.

The keiki fare is valid only on interisland flights flown by Aloha Airlines. The offer does not apply to travel by unaccompanied minors, tickets already purchased, Aloha's $69 Web fare, coupons or other fare specials.

The deal is available through May 20 for travel through June 15.
