Business briefs: Statewide gas price hits record $2.545

The statewide average for regular gasoline rose to a record $2.545 a gallon, according to today's AAA Daily Fuel Gauge Report.In Honolulu the average was $2.449 a gallon. In Wailuku, Maui, regular gas averaged $2.789 a gallon, while in Hilo on the Big Island, it averaged $2.605 a gallon.
Business travel leaders group meets in Honolulu
Business travel leaders from across the country are gathering in Honolulu today for a meeting of the National Business Travel Association's Chapter Presidents Council.
The Council is composed of the Presidents of 48 local and regional business travel associations from all over the United States, all of which are chapters of the largest association for corporate travel managers, NBTA.
Addressing the Council will be the Chairman and Past President of NBTA, Kevin M. Iwamoto, a Honolulu native. Iwamoto is now based in Palo Alto as Global Airline, Car & Ground Commodity Manager for the Hewlett-Packard Company.
Iwamoto is an airline and travel industry veteran, who worked for Northwest/KLM, Mid Pacific Airlines, Hawaiian Air, and the Walt Disney Company.
