Three suspects held in man's beating

Police arrested three men — ages 19, 20 and 24 — as suspects in a beating that took place outside an Ualena Street bar about 2 a.m. Sunday.

The beating victim, 43, told police he got into an argument with the men outside the bar and that they knocked him to the ground and repeatedly punched and kicked him.

Police were called to the scene and arrested the three men, who were identified by the beating victim. Police said emergency medical workers told them the victim probably suffered several broken ribs and a broken collarbone. He was taken to Kuakini Medical Center where he refused treatment, police said.
