Mid-Pac tops ILH champion Punahou

Alan Sunada had two hits and three RBIs as Mid-Pacific defeated Punahou, 8-5, yesterday in an Interscholastic League of Honolulu baseball game at the MPI field.

Chad Takabuki and Kip Masuda each added two hits for the Owls, who led 8-0 before allowing the Buffanblu to score five runs in the top of the sixth.

Steven Dannaway and Bucky Aona homered for Punahou, which is ranked No. 15 in the USA Today's Top 25 national poll.

The Owls improved to 14-7, while the Buffanblu, who clinched the ILH title on Saturday, fell to 18-2-1.

Brett Hasegawa batted 3 for 4, including two doubles, and had three RBIs to help the Raiders overcome 4-0 and 7-4 deficits.

John Worthington had three hits and three RBIs for the Warriors.
