Workplace nominees solicited

The Hawaii Psychological Association wants nominations for its annual Healthy Workplace Awards, which are intended to highlight safe, secure and psychologically healthy workplaces.

The deadline is July 15. Applications are available at www.hawaiipsych.org or by calling the Hawaii Psychological Association at 521-8995.

The Hawaii Psychological Association, in cooperation with the American Psychological Association, will present awards in five categories — large business, small business, not-for-profit organization, government agency and military unit — at the Hawaii Psychological Association annual conference in October.

The Healthy Workplace Award criteria covers five major areas: health, safety and security; employee involvement; career development; family support; and community service.

Last year's winners were: (tie) Alstom Power and NAVSEA Pacific International Shipyards Division (small business); City Mill (large business); Helping Hands Hawai'i (not-for-profit organization); 624th Regional Support Group (military); and the Department of Commerce and Consumer Affairs (government).
