Financial aid is available to junior golfers through the David S. Ishii Foundation's Monte Ito and Bill Gee Scholarship Awards, and the Junior Golf Travel Stipend for boys who qualify for the U.S. Amateur.

The Honolulu Advertiser and Honolulu Star-Bulletin sponsor $1,500 scholarship awards in memory of former sportswriters Ito and Gee. Hawai'i high school seniors and college students from Hawai'i are eligible.

The awards recognize outstanding achievements or potential in journalism and golf. Entrants must submit an essay illustrating their interest in journalism and golf, along with an entry form. Deadline is June 10.

For forms or information, call Bill Bachran (523-7888) or Arnold Hiura (944-0578).

The stipend, of up to $500, is available to juniors from Hawai'i. For information, contact Guy Yamamoto (688-2104).
