Punahou wins ILH Division II crown

Punahou got scoring from 11 players to defeat St. Francis, 49-42, to capture the Interscholastic League of Honolulu Division II championship last night at McCabe Gym.

Erin Nakata scored seven points and four teammates each chipped in six points as the Buffanblu (12-3) raced to a 30-17 halftime lead and led 38-22 entering the final quarter.

Kanani Perry scored 14 points and Siutiti Takai added 11 for the Troubadours (11-4), who will represent the ILH in the HHSAA Division II girls state tournament May 19-20 at the Stan Sheriff Center. Punahou is not eligible since it has a Division I team.

Kalaheo claims state tournament berth

Taylor Smith scored 19 points as Kalaheo defeated Moanalua, 67-47, in the fifth-place game of the O'ahu Interscholastic Association Division I Tournament last night at McKinley.

The Mustangs qualified for the Division I state tournament.
