For the fourth time this season, Hawai'i's Stephen Bryant was named Western Athletic Conference Pitcher of the Week.
Bryant, a senior right-hander, improved to 7-3 and lowered his earned run average to 2.84 after pitching the team's first complete game of the season on Thursday in a 4-1 win against Fresno State. He allowed a run on seven hits and a walk while tying a career-high with 11 strikeouts.

Bryant's seven wins ties him for third in the WAC with two other pitchers. Rice's Josh Geer and Nevada's Ryan Rodriguez have nine wins. Bryant's ERA is fourth in the WAC. His 97 strikeouts are third behind Fresno State's Matt Garza (108) and Rice's Joe Savery (107).
The third-place Rainbows (25-25 overall, 12-12 WAC) will play a three-game series at first-place Rice (36-15, 16-8), starting Friday.
Rice's Savery, who also plays first base, and UH's Isaac Omura are in a battle for the league's batting title. Savery is batting .389, and Omura .382.
