Honolulu No. 4 on priciest list

Honolulu ranked as the fourth-most expensive place to live during the first quarter, according to the ACCRA Cost of Living Index released today. The list of 305 urban areas surveyed was headed by New York, San Francisco and San Jose, Calif.
Separately, Honolulu ranked second behind San Francisco as the most expensive place to buy Lipitor, a prescription drug used to lower cholesterol.
ACCRA, a nonprofit economic development research center, bases its index on the cost of consumer goods, excluding taxes and nonconsumer expenditures.
The WorkForce job fair set for Tuesday at the Neal Blaisdell Center has drawn its largest employer turnout ever, with 170 local businesses, Mainland organizations, military recruiters and government agencies planning to set up booths.
