May Shumway, left, of 'Ewa Beach, recently chosen 2005 Young Mother of the Year, is all smiles with Helen Bean, center, National Mother of the Year, and Dawn Mukai of Wai'alae Iki, Hawai'i's Mother of the Year, at last month's National American Mothers convention in Houston. Shumway is daughter-in-law of former National Mother of the Year Carolyn Shumway of La'ie.
