Favorite ingredients: "Vitamin C and grapeseed oil, which has a lot of nourishing properties. Also silicone, because it smoothes the complexion and adds a base to apply makeup over."
Ingredients I avoid: "Mineral oil. It clogs pores."
1. Pout-Plump lip gloss
- What I like about it: "I obviously don't need to plump my lips, but this clear gloss is hard to resist. It glides on to create a smoother appearance. The long-lasting, intense peppermint flavor increases circulation and makes your lips come alive."
- Where I found it: Sephora
- Price: $24
2. Lancome Juicy Tubes Ultra Shiny Lip Gloss
- What I like about it: "Okay, I admit it. I have a lip gloss obsession. These are great sheer colors and an ultra-glossy formula that's long lasting and smells/tastes yummy."
- Where I found it: Macy's, Neiman Marcus, Sephora
- Price: $16
- What I like about it: "This unique formula coats and forms 'tubes' around the lashes. It holds a curl when dry and will not smudge, run, clump or flake. It's water resistant and easy to remove with the combination of water and pressure."
- Where I found it: Sephora
- Price: $24
4. Stila Sheer Color Tinted Moisturizer
- What I like about it: "It protects skin with an SPF of 15, provides moisture and sheer coverage in one step, evens out skin tone and calms redness. Excellent if you're going for a more natural look."
- Where I found it: Macy's, Sephora
- Price: $28
5. Sephora Super Smart Facial Moisturizer SPF 15
- What I like about it: "Sunscreen is an essential component of any beauty regimen. However, many of the combination moisturizer/sunscreen products I've tried have a less-than-desirable scent but not this one. This moisturizer has a fresh citrus scent and contains an oil-free blend of super-dose antioxidants, proteins, amino acids, beta glucan, a mattifying cotton powder, plus anti-aging wine extract to keep skin hydrated, protected and looking gorgeous all day."
- Where I found it: Sephora
- Price: $20
Sherry Chock Wong
Vocalist and actress, appearing at the "O" Lounge on Wednesday evenings.
Favorite ingredients: "Retinol creams to improve the surface of my skin. Silicone makes my hair look shinier and silkier, with the surface matte and smooth."
1. L'Oreal Line Erase Night Cream
- What I like about it: "When I wake up in the morning, my skin looks like it has a smoother texture and more even appearance."
- Where I found it: Longs
- Price: $15
2. Bioré Pore Perfect Daily Deep Cleansing Cloths
- What I like about it: "They're easy and portable and quick, and they remove all your makeup completely."
- Where I found it: Longs
- Price: $8.50
3. Island Soap & Candle Works' Hawaiian Botanical Body Lotion in Mango Coconut Guava
- What I like about it: "The texture is moisturizing, and the scent is tropical and island-like."
- Where I found it: Wal-Mart
- Price: $9-$10
4. Bliss Spa Super Moisturizing Body Butter in "Plum Plum"
- What I like about it: "It feels luxurious you put it on and you instantly feel rich. The fragrance is completely addictive."
- Where I found it: Sephora
- Price: $32
5. Revlon Age-Defying Light makeup with Botafirm & SPF 30
- What I like about it: "Its sheer coverage with a high SPF. It smoothes out imperfections and fine lines and looks so natural."
- Where I found it: Longs
- Price: $13
Willow Chang
Vocalist, dance instructor and Academy of Arts guide
Favorite ingredients: "I'm a sucker for the scents of frankincense, amber and coconut oil. Green tea is something I look for. 'Oil free' and 'hypoallergenic' are always pluses."
Tip: "I can't over-emphasize the importance of good tools, especially brushes. I can't live without my Mason Pearson hairbrush. Although it's pricey (the brushes range from $60 to $125 at Neiman Marcus) it's just so healthy for your hair."
Ingredients to avoid: "Alcohol! I only buy something with alcohol if it's at the bottom of the ingredients list. I also avoid products that say 'long-lasting.' I'd prefer to reapply than deal with putting on something that requires a special cleanser to take it off. Especially mascara I'd rather anticipate emotional outbursts than have my eyelashes fall out" while removing waterproof mascara.
1. L'Oreal Voluminous and Maybelline Full and Soft Mascaras
- What I like about it: "The teddy-bear brush it's thick, full and wide, and you can coat most of your lashes in one fell swoop. It doesn't flake off, either."
- Where I found it: Wal-Mart, Longs
- Price: $5.50i$7
2. Physician's Formula "The Baked Collection" eye shadow
- What I like about it: "It's (usable) wet and dry, but I prefer to use it wet. Avoid those foam applicators always and use a good brush."
- Where I found it: Longs
- Price: $8-$9
3. Sally Hansen Fast & Flawless Skin Brightener
- What I like about it: "My makeup was looking kind of matte, so I started using this on top of the makeup. Sometimes I use it by itself. It gives a nice radiance to the skin without looking chalky."
- Where I found it: Daiei and Longs
- Price: $6
4. Sally Hansen Radiant Hands Nail & Cuticle Cream
- What I like about it: "It's not at all greasy, and it smells wonderful, like a fresh tangerine."
- Where I found it: Daiei, Longs and Wal-Mart
- Price: $6
5. L'Oreal Sublime Bronze Self Tanner
- What I like about it: "It's an aerosol with a fine mist that works like a charm. It's very user-friendly and dries instantly. It doesn't have a sunscreen but it also doesn't have that wicked stench that most self tanners have."
- Where I found it: Longs
- Price: $8.50
