UH post goes to water-law expert
Professor Joseph Sax has joined the environmental law program of the William S. Richardson School of Law as the Wallace S. Fujiyama Distinguished Visiting Professor of Law.
Sax's groundbreaking scholarship on water law and the public trust doctrine provided the legal cornerstone for the Hawai'i Supreme Court's landmark Waiahole water decision in 2000.
Sax is recognized nationally and internationally for pioneering legal and policy developments in the areas of natural resources, wildlife, water rights, public lands and public trust.
The Hawai'i State Federal Credit Union has named Amy Motooka chairwoman of its board of directors.
Also serving on the 2005 board are: vice-chairman Tit Mun Chun; treasurer Peter Leong; secretary Louise Akamine; and directors Andrew Endo, Beverly Ing Lee and David Shimabukuro.
