ISLAND LIFE SHORTS
Kiss Army rocks into town

Advertiser Staff

Face-painting rockers Kiss at Hawaii's Natural High this evening? Uh, probably not even if Tommy Chong was providing refreshments. But doppelganger tribute band Kiss Army will be there. In full makeup and costume. The faux foursome are paying a live concert call on Dr. Love at Pipeline Cafe Saturday night. But from 5 to 7 tonight, members of Kiss Army will stretch their spandex and pose for pics at Hawaii's Natural High. Bring a camera — and some suspension of disbelief — to 339 Saratoga Road. Beth, what can we do?

ANIMAL ATTRACTION

'Madagascar' fun at the zoo

The Honolulu Zoo is spotlighting its local stars — Apollo the lion, Mizz the zebra and Cleopatra the hippo, to name a few — to coincide with the animated comedy "Madagascar," opening today. And to celebrate, the zoo is giving out complimentary "Madagascar" activity books and movie posters to keiki visitors while supplies last.

The DreamWorks Animation flick features the voices of Ben Stiller as Alex the lion, Chris Rock as Marty the zebra, David Schwimmer as Melman the giraffe, and Jada Pinkett Smith as Gloria the hippo. The four escape from New York's Central Park Zoo and are shipwrecked in Madagascar, where they discover "it's a jungle out there."

FINAL WORD

"I'll tell the story in the way I want to tell it, when I'm ready, you know. I'll clear up things that I haven't already, or you know, maybe I won't."

— Faith Evans | to AP Television News about the possibility of a movie — from her perspective — on the 1997 murder of Notorious B.I.G., her then-estranged husband.
