Three Rainbows named to All-WAC first team

The University of Hawai'i placed three baseball players on the All-Western Athletic Conference first team and four on the second unit, the conference announced today.

Second baseman Isaac Omura, outfielder Matt Inouye and pitcher Stephen Bryant were selected to the first team in voting by the conference's coaches.

Catcher Esteban Lopez, shortstop Joe Spiers, designated hitter Nate Thurber and pitcher Darrell Fisherbaugh were named to the second team.

Rice freshman Joe Savery was named the conference Player of the Year while Fresno State's Matt Garza is the Pitcher of the Year and the Bulldogs' third baseman Beau Mills is the Freshman of the Year. Rice's Wayne Graham is Coach of the Year.

Fresno State and Rice each had four players named to the 14-man first team.
