Retired U.S. Navy master chief petty officer; U.S. Coast veteran, and owner of coin-operated laundries in California and Hawai'i. Survived by wife, Sarah Ann; children, Michael and Stephen Basso, and Linda Santos; nine grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren. Burial of ashes 10 a.m. Monday at Hawai'i State Veterans Cemetery. Arrangements by Colonial Chapel-Franklin & Downs, Modesto.

LOIS JEANNE DE LA MATER BATES, of Kane'ohe, has died. Military civil service employee in the Philippines, Taiwan and Saigon (Ho Chi Minh City). Survived by daughter, Katya De La Mater; son, Paul; brother, William De La Mater. Celebration of life 10 a.m. to noon Saturday at Waikiki Elks Club; ashes to be scattered beyond the reef.

BEATRICE ABREU JARDIN CAPOCCI, 81, of Kalaheo, Kaua'i, died Oct. 21, 2005. Born in Kalaheo. Retired Freeman Guards Inc. airport security scanner.
