"Chicken Little" got a hearty thumbs up from a sample of young reviewers at a weekend Honolulu preview.

Eighth-grader Christina Fasi, 13, thought the film was "perfect for all ages. It does have jokes for little children, but it also has jokes for teenagers and adults."

Her sister Carina Fasi, 10, a fifth-grader, enjoyed the animal characters. And "it was exciting because you never knew what would happen next."

Jackie Parr, 9, a fourth-grader, called the film "outrageously funny." Her brother Carson, 11, a sixth-grader, agreed: "It was a wonderful movie."

And there were lessons to be learned, too:

  • Christina Fasi: "I learned you should still believe in yourself; even if no one likes you or someone puts you down, you just have to keep shooting toward the stars."

  • Carina Fasi: "I learned to never judge a book by its cover."

  • Jackie Parr: "What I learned is you need to be able to express your feelings to your parents and that parents should love their children even if they embarrass you and make you look bad."

  • Carson Parr: "They have an important moral in this story, that parents should listen to what their child has to say and that kids shouldn't be afraid to talk to their parents."
