PAIVA WON'T BE BACK AS SAINT LOUIS COACH

Scot Paiva said yesterday that he was dismissed as varsity baseball coach at Saint Louis School after two seasons.

The school e-mailed The Advertiser a notice saying that it was seeking applicants for varsity and intermediate baseball coaches.

"We had expectations that were not met and we just want to move in another direction," Saint Louis athletic director Todd Los Banos said. "He and his staff did a good job."

Paiva, a 1989 graduate of Saint Louis, said: "I don't understand it, but what can I do?"

Saint Louis finished third in the ILH with a 14-7 record last season.

Applicants should fax resumes to the attention of the athletic director at 739-4823.
