Kaimuki man charged with sexually assaulting boy

A Kaimuki man has been charged with sexually assaulting a 10-year-old boy repeatedly between Aug. 1 and Oct. 31.Christopher Brainerd, 41, was charged yesterday with five counts of third-degree sexual assault. Brainerd, who has a prior sexual assault conviction, was also charged with failing to update information contained in the Hawai'i sexual offender registry, police said.
Bail for Brainerd was set at $50,000.
