Bishop Museum unveils its new 16,500-square-foot Science Adventure Center with an all-day celebration. The fun includes interactive presentations, keiki activities, inflatable jumpers, games, storytelling, planetarium and StarLab shows, science fun and entertainment by Keahiwai, Makana and Na Leo Pilimehana. Admission is $3 kama'aina and military, and free for museum members and 3 and younger. Bank of Hawaii customers and employees get free admission for up to four visitors with a Bank of Hawaii bank card or statement.

The Kaimuki High School Performing Arts Center prepares to take you to a land far, far away with its original production of "The Golden Slipper: A Chinese Cinderella Tale." Feed your need for a popular cult classic and head for "Somewhere That's Green" — the musical "Little Shop of Horrors," presented by the University of Hawai'i-Manoa Department of Theatre and Dance. Pedro Haro is Seymour, Nicole Brilhante is Audrey, and the notorious plant comes to life via Danielle Rabinovitch. UH-Manoa MFA directing candidate Jennifer Linstad directs. The 6th annual Punk on a Rock concert is set to shake up the island with five acts primed for music, mayhem and mischief. The lineup includes Andrew WK, Bleeding Through, Good Riddance, Valient Thorr and No Bare Feet. Tickets are $18 for this all-ages show.

Grammy Award-winning and mega-album-selling songstress Mariah Carey offers two concerts next month. The singer-songwriter noted for her vocal range and memorable love songs has hits that span from "Vision of Love" to "Dreamlover" to "It's Like That." Tickets are $75, $125 and $150. Doors open at 6:30 p.m.
