University of Hawai'i sophomore middle blocker Juliana Sanders was named the Xbox Live Western Athletic Conference Volleyball Player of the Week yesterday.

Sanders had 12 kills and seven blocks in UH's five-game victory over Utah State Thursday. She followed that with 12 kills and six blocks against San Jose State. She hit a career-high .800 against San Jose State.

It was the second WAC honor for the Castle alum.

UH remained No. 9 in the CSTV/AVCA Division I coaches top 25 poll.

Nebraska, the only unbeaten team in the poll at 25-0, remains No. 1.

Penn State (25-2) overtook Washington (23-1) for the No. 2 spot. Florida, Stanford, Arizona, Louisville and Notre Dame hold down spots Nos. 4 to 8. Texas is No. 10.

UH closes its home regular-season with matches against New Mexico State Thursday and Louisiana Tech Friday.
