Georgeson captures Roxy Pro surf meet

Australia's Chelsea Georgeson scored a perfect 10 during the four-woman final en route to a victory in the Roxy Pro in 4- to 6-foot surf at Haleiwa today.

Georgeson's second-best ride was a 7.83 for a 17.83 total. Claire Bevilacqua was second with a 11.23 and Melanie Redman-Carr third with a 9.90 to complete an Australian sweep.

Hawai'i's Megan Abubo was fourth with 8.44.

Georgeson, who is ranked No. 1 on the women's pro tour, earned $10,000 for today's victory. The holding period for the final Association of Professional Surfers event in Maui begins Dec. 8.
