TONIGHT'S MUST-SEE

"Medium," 9 p.m., NBC. NBC says viewers can see Allison's visions in 3-D, if they have the right glasses. She looks into some paintings and sees the nasty soul of the artist. Producer Glenn Gordon Caron promises that will happen at least once between each commercial break. The network says the right glasses will be inside this week's TV Guide and in subscription mailers from the magazine. They'll also be passed out in some cities (check www.nbc.com) and by some stations. And they'll be at the Universal theme park stores in Los Angeles and Orlando, Fla.

"Edge of America," 6 p.m., Showtime. In real life, a black basketball star from Texas coached a quiet girls basketball team in a Navajo community. That became a superb documentary ("Rocks With Wings") and now this interesting fictionalized tale. Gifted director Chris Eyre ("Smoke Signals") keeps only the basic plot. Eyre makes rich use of the landscape and a fine cast. James McDaniel is the outsider and Irene Bedard is his assistant coach. Wes Studi is a droll mechanic, with Delanna Studi (his niece) as a player.

OF NOTE

"One on One," 4 p.m., UPN (KIKU). On the show's 100th episode, cute little Breanna decides she should lose her virginity to her hunky boyfriend, Arnaz, on her 19th birthday. There's some well-meaning talk about pregnancy prevention, but mostly there's broad, blunt humor.

"How I Met Your Mother," 7:30 p.m., CBS. For a richer brand of humor, the CBS comedies between 7:30 and 9 p.m. have been strong and sharp. In this one, Ted and Robin volunteer at a homeless shelter on Thanksgiving — and find that Barney may have a warm side. Also, Lily visits Marshall's family in Minnesota.

"Two and a Half Men," 8 p.m., CBS. Cloris Leachman, 79, plays a neighbor who lusts after Alan (played by Jon Cryer, 40).

"Prison Break," 8 p.m., Fox. Now we're one week away from the cliffhanger that will have to hold us for a few months. Tonight's new episode (preceded by a rerun at 8 p.m.) has the prisoners worried that too many people are in on the escape plan.

"Out of Practice," 8:30 p.m., CBS. When everyone gathers at the mom's house, past revelations are revealed. The parents (Henry Winkler and Stockard Channing) are splitting and Regina (Paula Marshall) is a lesbian.

"American Experience: Influenza 1918," 9 p.m., PBS. Here's just what we needed to perk up our spirits — an overview of the flu epidemic that reportedly killed 600,000 people.

"CSI: Miami," 9 p.m., CBS. Bank robbers may be inspired by a video game. They get points for a real-life robbery, rape or murder.
