Small earthquake rattles Big Island

HILO, Hawai'i A small earthquake of magnitude 3.8 rattled parts of the Big Island today but caused no reported damage.The minor temblor at 9:57 a.m. was centered in an area about two miles west-southwest of Pohakuloa, but officials at the U.S. Army's Pohakuloa Training Area said they didn't notice the jolt.
Neil Gyotoku, plans and operations officer for Hawai'i County Civil Defense, said there were no reports of damage.
