A man accused of bullying his 'Ahuimanu neighbors for more than a decade pleaded not guilty yesterday to two counts of terroristic threatening.

A lawyer for David R. Domingues entered the plea in a video conference from the O'ahu Community Correction Center where Domingues, 38, has been held in lieu of $2 million bail since his indictment last week on the charges.

Circuit Judge Derrick Chan assigned the case to Circuit Judge Steven Alm and set trial for the week of Jan. 23. Chan told Domingues' lawyer, Randy Oyama, to take up a bail reduction request with the trial judge.

Domingues, 38, is accused of threatening two neighbors in their 'Ahuimanu neighborhood, but prosecutors said many more residents have been threatened and harassed by Domingues.

Prosecutors said the threats made by Domingues have escalated over the past few months and that neighbors decided to fight back. Several hired a private attorney and six families filed for temporary restraining orders against Domingues.

Neighbors have said Domingues has threatened to kill them and their children and frequently taunts people and challenges them to fights.
