TONIGHT'S MUST-SEE

"Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade," 9 a.m., NBC. Once simply a parade, this has become a rolling variety show with stars lip-syncing to music. This year, that includes LeAnn Rimes, Carrie Underwood, Brian McKnight, Aaron Neville and others. Then there are the Broadway casts — "Chitty Chitty Bang Bang," "Dirty Rotten Scoundrels," "Jersey Boys" and the "Sweet Charity" revival. There's also a Santa Claus and the Radio City Rockettes. And yes, there are still some real parade items, 10 marching bands (including the Hawai'i All-State Marching Band), 27 floats, 14 helium balloons and 1,600 cheerleaders. Katie Couric, Matt Lauer and Al Roker anchor the 79th annual parade.

"Finding Nemo" (2003), 7:30 p.m., ABC. This Pixar film mixes humor, heart and gorgeous computer animation. A little fish is captured and taken far away. His father, a timid clownfish (Albert Brooks), begins a rescue mission with the help of a blue tang (Ellen DeGeneres).

OF NOTE

Football, all day. Yes, it's Thanksgiving and that means football. The Atlanta Falcons play the Detroit Lions (7:30 a.m. on Fox), the Denver Broncos play the Dallas Cowboys, 11 p.m. on CBS, and a college game will feature Pittsburgh vs. Virginia, 3 p.m. on ESPN.

"National Dog Show," noon, NBC. John O'Hurley, fresh from his dancing fame, hosts the show. Sponsored by the Kennel Club of Philadelphia, it's expected to have more than 2,000 entries.

"Daddy Day Care" (2003), 7 p.m., Fox. When they lose their jobs, two guys (Eddie Murphy and Jeff Garlin) set up a daycare in their upper-middle-class neighborhood. Comedy ensues and lessons are learned.

"A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving," 7 p.m., ABC. In this amiable rerun from 1974, hapless Charlie Brown is responsible for the holiday feast.

"Joey," 7 p.m., NBC. Joey can catch a dull Thanksgiving party with his family or a lively one with lots of single women.

"CSI: Crime Scene Investigation," 8 p.m., CBS. On Thanksgiving, investigators find the nasty side of competitive eating.

"Without a Trace," 9 p.m., CBS. An FBI agent disappears after his partner is killed. Jack, a former colleague of the missing man, searches. Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio guest stars as the missing man's wife, who is also an FBI agent.
