Fujikawa falls in junior golf championship match

Jamie Lovemark of Rancho Santa Fe, Calif, defeated Honolulu's Tadd Fujikawa, 5 and 3, to win the boys title at the Polo Golf Junior Classic at Sea Island, Ga., today.

Lovemark, who has signed a letter of intent to play for Southern California, got off to a quick start against Fujikawa, a 14-year-old Moanalua Middle School student. He led 2 up after nine holes and 4 up after 11 holes. The match ended when Lovemark sank a birdie on the par-5 15th hole and Fujikawa parred.

Angela Park of Torrance, Calif., defeated Mina Harigae of Monterey, Calif., 4 and 3, for the girls title.

The Polo Golf Junior Classic is conducted by the American Junior Golf Association.
