Rainbow Wahine win WAC again

RENO, Nev. — The University of Hawai'i women's volleyball team won its eighth consecutive Western Athletic Conference championship with a 30-25, 30-27, 30-25 victory over Utah State at the Lawlor Events Center.

The Rainbow Wahine (25-6), ranked No. 8 in the country, received the WAC's automatic berth to the NCAA Tournament, which starts next week.

Freshman Jamie Houston led the Rainbow Wahine with 17 kills. Victoria Prince, who was named tournament MVP for the second year in a row, added 11 kills. Ashley Watanabe had 18 digs and Tara Hittle had 10 kills and 15 digs.

The Rainbow Wahine have won 125 consecutive matches over WAC opponents.
