Man arrested in alleged sexual assault

A 28-year-old man was arrested yesterday in connection with a report filed on behalf of an 11-year-old girl who said the man sexually molested her early yesterday morning in Kailua.

Investigators were told the incident took place about 3 a.m. yesterday morning.

The suspect, who knows to the victim, was arrested about 6:30 p.m. near the intersection of North Kalaheo Avenue and Kalaka Place, police said.



Security guard robbed of cell phone while calling 911

Police arrested an 18-year-old man Saturday night after he allegedly stole the belongings of a 40-year-old women and then took a cell phone away from a hotel security guard who was trying to report the incident to police.

Police said the security guard went to the aid of the woman who pointed to the suspect as he was walking away. They said the guard tried to detain the suspect and told the man he was going to call 911, at which point the suspect grabbed the cell phone from the guard's hand, police said.

Officers arrested the suspect for suspicion of fourth-degree theft in connection with trying to take the woman's belongings and second-degree robbery in connection with taking the guard's cell phone way.



Convenience store robbery suspect arrested

An 18-year-old Waipahu man was arrested yesterday morning in connection with the robbery of an area convenience store.

Police said a man walked into the store about 10:50 a.m. and demanded the key to the beer cooler.

When a 24-year-old male clerk refused to turn over the key, the man walked around the counter, grabbed the key, unlocked the cooler, took two "cold packs" of beer and walked out.

Police located the suspect on Pupuole Street drinking with several other men. He was arrested for suspicion of second-degree robbery.



Man allegedly hits bouncer with beer bottle

A 25-year-old Waikiki man was arrested early Sunday morning after he allegedly struck a nightclub bouncer in the head with a beer bottle.

The bouncer, 35, told police he asked the younger man to leave the club but he refused and took a swing. The bouncer said he pushed the club patron away only to have him come back at him with a beer bottle in his hand.

Police, who had been called earlier, arrived and arrested the suspect for suspicion of second-degree assault.

The bouncer was treated at the scene by city paramedics for a small cut on his forehead.



Man, 19, allegedly breaks into friend's home, steals car

A 19-year-old man was arrested yesterday morning after he allegedly broke into the Kailua home of a 21-year-old female friend and stole one of her cars.

The woman told police she returned home late Saturday evening or early Sunday morning to find the man inside. She said the man appeared to be drunk and wanted to use her car.

She said that when she refused, the man assaulted her. She said she managed to escape through a back door and leave in one of her cars.

She said when she returned a few hours later, a spare key and one of her cars was missing.

Police were taking a report on the missing car when the suspect was found asleep in it at a parking lot adjacent to the Windward Mall.

Police arrested the suspect for suspicion of kidnapping and car theft.
