UH's Sanders gets WAC women's basketball honor

The University of Hawai'i's Amy Sanders was named the Xbox Live Western Athletic Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week, the conference announced Monday.Sanders, a senior guard from Huntington Beach, Calif., averaged 15 points, 5.3 rebounds and two assists per game to lead the Rainbow Wahine to a third-place finish in the Rainbow Wahine Classic, where she made the all-tournament team.
She scored 14 points, including the game-winning shot with a second remaining, to beat Texas A&M, 68-66, Sunday, and had 19 points in a 77-67 loss to Wisconsin.
