CANUTO BACAL, 83, of 'Aiea, died Nov. 19, 2005. Born in Lalawigan, Borongan, Samar, Philippines. Retired U.S. Navy chief petty officer; retired U.S. Army civil service employee; founder of Samar Leyte Society of Washington, D.C. Survived by wife, Clotilde; children, Canuto Jr., Ernie, Nanette Macdonald, Belinda Akaka and Lillian "Brandy" Abellira; brothers, Jose, Alfredo and Valentin; sisters, Carlota Dolot and Adela Sucayan; eight grandchildren. Visitation 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Borthwick Mortuary; service 7 p.m. Visitation also 9 to 10 a.m. Thursday at the mortuary; service 10 a.m.; burial 11 a.m. at Hawaiian Memorial Park.

TANG GAN, 79, of Honolulu, died Nov. 21, 2005. Born in Zhong Shan, China. Survived by wife, Shi Chun Lam; son, Huan Yi; daughters, Huan, Qun, Huan Mei and Jin Yun Su; 14 grandchildren. Visitation for Taoist service 9 to 11:30 a.m. at Borthwick Mortuary; burial noon at Hawaiian Memorial Park.

HAZEL LAILANI GOMES, 78, of Honolulu, died Nov. 16, 2005. Born in Honolulu. A homemaker.
