Maui condo prices rise to $425,600 median last month

WAILUKU, Hawai'i — The median sales price for a condominium on Maui climbed a little more than $59,000 in September to $425,600, the Realtors Association of Maui reported yesterday.

In September of last year, the median price for a condo was $330,000.

Meanwhile, the median sales price for a single-family home on Maui dropped slightly from $693,000 in August to $689,750 in September. In September 2004, it stood at $596,000.

The all-time high median price for a single-family home of $780,000 was set in May.

Year-to-date figures from the association showed the median sales price for a condo rose 29 percent during the first nine months of this year compared with the same time period last year to $380,000 from $295,000.

During the same time period, the median price for single-family home sales climbed 24 percent from $550,000 to $680,000.
