Baby stabbed to death on Big Island

HILO, Hawai'i — Big Island police have arrested a 16-year-old girl on suspicion of murder in the stabbing death of a 4-month-old infant in Kailua, Kona. Police said they were called to a report of an "accidental stabbing" on Oluolu Street in the Kona Highlands subdivision at 7 p.m. Wednesday, and found the infant had suffered a fatal stab wound. Police released no other details. Kona Criminal Investigation section detectives were investigating the case.
