Pirates and tigers and you, oh my!

We're looking to treat readers with photos of your best Halloween costumes — keiki and adults with a creative look — and we won't "boo" anyone's efforts. E-mail pictures to zserrano@honolulu advertiser.com, with "Halloween costume" in the subject line. Include name(s) and contact information of the person(s) in the photo and who to credit for taking the photo. Submissions must be high-resolution jpeg, with a minimum 300 dpi. You also can snail-mail us at Island Life/Halloween Costumes, The Honolulu Advertiser, 605 Kapi'olani Blvd., Honolulu, HI 96813. Deadline for submissions is Wednesday.

THE ART OF GIVING

HURRICANE AID WORTH FRAMING

Artist Alex Steelsmith is offering free signed artist's proofs to those who donate at least $75 to Hurricane Katrina relief efforts through the American Red Cross. Send $75 donations for the Red Cross, and he's offering "Beginnings"; donations of $150 get you that and "Elysium." Those who give $200 or more net both and an additional print commensurate to the donation. Make checks payable to the American Red Cross (write "Hurricane 2005 Relief" on the check's memo line) and send them to Katrina Relief Fund, Steelsmith Publishing, 150 Hamakua Drive, #800, Kailua, HI 96734. Information: www.SteelsmithArt.com.
