The new and improved box-car racing facility opens today in Kunia, and that means free racing from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Those under 18 must be accompanied by an adult and wear long pants that cover the ankles. All who want to race must wear sports shoes. If you have a helmet, bring it.

The new American Box Car Racing International facility is on the mauka side of the Kunia Park & Ride near Times and Wal-Mart. Look for the checkered flags. 947-3393, www.boxcarracing.org.
