Mmm …‘Taste of Waipahu’ and Bug parts for sale

Waipahu hosts a couple of community events today:
• “Bugs at the Park,” featuring antiques and collectibles, classic bicycles and vintage Volkswagen parts for sale and a show of bikes and cars, takes place from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Hawaiçi’s Plantation Village. Admission is 50 cents general, free for military and kids under 10. It’s a benefit for the plantation village. 754-1098.

• The 5th annual Taste of Waipahu is from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at August Ahrens Elementary School’s Tucker Field. Besides food, expect to find arts and crafts, entertainment, games and prizes. Admission is free. 677-6939.

A free trolley will run between the two events and the Waikele Shopping Center employee parking lot, the bus stop at Highway Inn and Waipahu Intermediate.
