Komeiji named UH assistant

Keith Komeiji, former University of Hawai'i and Kaiser High catcher, has been named assistant baseball coach at the school.Komeiji, 42, who played at UH in 1982 and was a two-time all-state high school player, was a volunteer coach the past four years at UH.
"He's done an outstanding job the last four years as our volunteer and has earned this opportunity with his hard work," said UH coach Mike Trapasso. "He'll do a great job for us as a hitting coach and will continue to coach our catchers."
