18-year-old woman killed after collision with city bus

An 18-year-old woman was killed last night after she was hit by a city bus while crossing the street, police said.At 8:09 p.m. Saturday the woman was crossing in a marked crosswalk on Pauoa Road when a bus hit her. The bus was turning east from Pacific Heights Road onto Pauoa Road in "heavy rain" when the woman was hit, according to police.
The woman was taken to The Queen's Medical Center where she later died from her injuries, police said.
The death was the 61st traffic fatality on O'ahu so far this year, compared to 52 at this time last year, police said.
