Business briefs: Central Pacific reports record profit

Central Pacific Financial Corp. today reported a record $18 million net profit for a three-month period. The company's third-quarter results compared with $7.7 million in profit during the same quarter last year, and were aided in part by the acquisition of former rival CB Bancshares Inc., lower merger-related expenses and the purchase of residential mortgage loan brokerage firm Hawaii HomeLoans Inc.
Mesa Air names executive for Hawaii operations
Mesa Air Group today announced it has appointed Greg Stephens as Chief Operating Officer of its new, yet-to-be-named, Hawaiian operation.
The new inter-island operation is expected to inaugurate service in the first quarter of 2006. Stephens has most recently served Mesa as President of its Air Midwest subsidiary.
Replacing Stephens at Air Midwest will be George Lippemeier, who was named today as president of Air Midwest. Additionally, Mickey Bowman was named as Vice President of Scheduling and Planning for the new Hawaiian operation.
