Business briefs: Maui Divers CEO wins retailing award

Bob Taylor, chief executive officer of Maui Divers of Hawaii Ltd., was named Retailer of the Year today by the Retail Merchants of Hawaii.

Taylor was one of eight local retailers receiving awards in various categories as part of the Retail Merchant's 11th Annual Ho'okela Awards.

The Retail Merchants also presented the 19th Annual Governor's Fashion Award for Manufacturers of the Year and the Shopping Center of the Year award at its 2005 Annual Conference and awards luncheon today at the Hilton Hawaiian Village, Coral Ballroom.

A&B declares fourth quarter dividend of 22 1/2 cents per share

The Board of Directors of Alexander & Baldwin Inc. today announced a fourth-quarter dividend of 22.5 cents per share, payable on December 1, 2005 to shareholders of record as of the close of business on November 10, 2005.

The amount of the dividend is unchanged from the previous quarter. Alexander & Baldwin, Inc., headquartered in Honolulu, is engaged in ocean transportation and intermodal services, through its subsidiaries, Matson Navigation Company, Inc. and Matson Integrated Logistics, Inc.; in real estate, through A&B Properties, Inc.; and in food products, through Hawaiian Commercial & Sugar Company and Kauai Coffee Company, Inc.
