  • Plans to transform 36 1/2 acres of state-owned waterfront land in the The Kaka'ako Waterfront Project into a "live, work, learn, visit and play" urban village community will be the focus of a joint presentation Nov. 10 by the HAWAI'I SOCIETY OF CORPORATE PLANNERS.   • Accessing the latest Census figures and other federal statistics by computer will be the focus of a pair of 3-hour, hands-on workshops offered Nov. 8 by the U.S. Census Bureau and the state Department of Business, Economic Development and Tourism. "LEARNING ABOUT HAWAI'I'S ECONOMY From the 2002 Economic Census," will present recent trends and uses of the 2002 economic census figures for use by the business community to make informed decisions based on economic growth, development trends and demographic shifts reflected in the census figures. The workshops will feature Census Bureau information specialist Jerry Wong.
