UH TO AID VICTIMS

The University of Hawai'i athletic department will be collecting funds for Hurricane Katrina victims during this weekend's sporting events.

"The scope of the disaster is indescribable," said UH athletic director Herman Frazier. "I'm sure our fans will respond with overwhelming support and provide much-needed funds for the victims of this catastrophe."

Members of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee will be collecting donations at tonight's and Sunday's Rainbow Wahine volleyball matches, and also tomorrow at the Warriors' football game against USC at Aloha Stadium.

All proceeds will go to the American Red Cross.
