Myron 'Kini' Enos

Advertiser Staff

Myron "Kini" Enos Jr. is an eighth-grader at Our Lady of Good Counsel in Pearl City.

His literature teacher from last year, Esther Amano, calls him "an introvert."

"He is a gentleman," she said. "He never tries to cause any trouble or tease anyone."

The 13-year-old Kini is the son of Myron Enos Sr. — possibly the state's most famous unemployed truck driver — and Jerrene, whose nickname is "Girlie."

They live in Waipahu.

Kini may be a fierce competitor, but Amano said he has a compassionate side.

"He is sensitive to the needs of others," she said. "He looks out for other people."

Kini's Pee Wee football coach last fall, Mark Milton, said the boy is a tremendous athlete, "mentally tough."

But that's only part of the story.

"To me he is a fun-loving kid," Milton said. "He enjoys life. He is always smiling."
