Man robs Taco Bell

Police are looking for a man who robbed the 'Ewa Beach Taco Bell about 8:15 a.m. this morning.

Employees told police the man approached the counter, pulled out a handgun and demanded money.

He left the fast-food outlet with an undisclosed amount of cash and got into a car containing two other men.

The car, described as a two-door hatchback, was last seen traveling down Papipi Road toward the "Hau Bush" area, police said.



Man hit driving moped in critical condition

A 18-year-old man who was hit by a car while riding a moped in the Pauoa area last night remained in critical condition this morning at The Queen's Medical Center.

Police traffic investigators said the moped rider was traveling west on Pauoa Road 10:50 p.m. when the driver of a 1989 Toyota Camry approaching from the opposite direction attempted to make a left turn onto Pacific Heights Road and collided with the moped operator.

Police said neither speed nor the use of alcohol appear to be factors in the case.



Crimestoppers, police asking for help

CrimeStoppers and the Honolulu Police Department are asking for help from the public in identifying and locating man wanted in connection with a burglary.

Neighbors reported seeing the man at a Manoa home between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. on Saturday. They said the man was at the home for several hours and even spoke with one of the neighbors. The neighbor tried to contact the homeowner but was unable to. When the owner returned , she discovered that her house had been broken into and several items were missing.

The man police are seeking is believed to be in his early 20s, 5-foot-6 to 5-foot-8, about 140 pounds with dirty blond hair, long side burns and distinctively large ears. He was seen wearing a navy blue baseball cap backward, a short sleeve gray shirt and dark blue athletic shorts.

CrimeStoppers and the Honolulu Police Department is seeking the public's assistance in identifying and locating a male suspect wanted in connection with a burglary.

On Sept. 3, 2005, between the hours of 7 a.m. and 7 p.m., the suspect was seen at a Manoa residence by neighbors. The suspect was at the home for several hours and even spoke with one of the neighbors. At the time the neighbor tried to contact the homeowner but was unable to. When the owner returned she discovered that her house had been broken into and several items missing.

Ex-boyfriend arrested as kidnap suspect

A 27-year-old homeless man was arrested yesterday in Wahiawa yesterday in connection with a June 14 kidnapping involving his former girlfriend.

The woman, 25, told police she was driving to work and had stopped her car about 6:30 a.m. at the corner of Olive and Walker avenues in Wahiawa when her ex-boyfriend entered the car without permission and told her to pull over to the side or he would shoot her.

For the next 30 minutes, the former boyfriend constantly threatened to kill her and her mother with a gun, the woman said.

She said she tried to escape twice but was pulled back each time and was told by the ex-boyfriend that he had damaged her mother's car.

The woman finally managed to get out of the car and called police, and later discovered that her cell phone was taken from the car.

The suspect was found about 6:40 p.m. yesterday in the 800 block of California Avenue and arrested for suspicion of kidnapping, first-degree terroristic threatening, unlawful entry into a motor vehicle, second-degree criminal property damage and five counts of violating a protective order.



Car-thief suspect also wanted for robbery

A 45-year-old man who was arrested in Waipahu yesterday on suspicion of car theft was also wanted in connection with the early morning robbery on Aug. 15 of a man in Hale'iwa.

Members of a crime reduction unit from the Central O'ahu and North Shore police district spotted the man driving what they believe was a stolen car through Waipahu about 12:30 p.m. yesterday. He was arrested when he got out of the car for suspicion of unauthorized control of a propelled vehicle, driving without a license and fraudulent use of license plates.

He was subsequently arrested for suspicion of kidnapping, first-degree burglary and attempted burglary and first-degree robbery in connection with the Hale'iwa incident.

In that case, a man told police he was sleeping in a tent on private property when two men jumped him about 4:15 a.m. and took his money and car keys after they threatened to kill him. The victim told police he was bound with duct tape but managed to free himself and call 911.

Police arrived to find one of the suspects, 32, pretending to be asleep behind the steering wheel of the victim's car and arrested him. The other man left the area before police arrived, but was arrested in Waipahu yesterday.



Woman wakes up while being sexually assaulted

Police are investigating a report filed by a 19-year-old woman who said she was sexually assaulted yesterday morning in Wahiawa.

The woman told police she was sleeping at the home of a male acquaintance when she awakened about 5:30 a.m. to find him assaulting her. A neighbor called police who went to the home and arrested the suspect.
