Aloha Stadium manager Eddie Hayashi will announce his retirement at a press conference today at the stadium.

A stadium press release said that Hayashi is scheduled to make "a major announcement," but gave no other details.

But Hayashi confirmed yesterday to The Advertiser that he will retire from his post of 11 years. He declined to elaborate further, saying he would talk about it at today's press conference.

Before he became manager of the 50,000-seat facility, Hayashi served as deputy manager of the stadium from 1989 to 1994. He also was a Stadium Authority member from 1980 to 1988.
