A memorial service for Eduard "Eduardious" Paul Thompson will be held at 5 p.m. tomorrow at the Hawai'i Kai Towne Center Stage.

The public is invited to "share the celebration and inspiration of Eddie's Life." Thompson died in his home state of Utah on Aug. 31. He was 58.

For two decades, Thompson, who moved to Honolulu in 1980, was a daily bicycling fixture along O'ahu's Kalaniana'ole Highway.

Motorists and pedestrians marveled at Thompson's determination to go where he pleased, unhampered by his cerebral palsy. Each day he laboriously pedaled his unique three-wheel bike from his home in Waikiki to Hawai'i Kai and back again — a journey that took him four hours to complete, one way.

Recently, Thompson, whose health had been declining, suffered a spinal and neck injury when he fell on the street near Diamond Head.

Thompson was placed in a hospital in Utah, where he died.
