Two men, ages 24 and 27, were arrested yesterday in Wai'anae after a witness saw them break into a car trunk and take several suitcases, police said.

One of the men was driving a pickup truck while the other was riding in the truck bed when the truck pulled up to the car, which was parked along Farrington Highway, police said.

They said the man who was in the bed hopped out, popped the trunk open and loaded the suitcases into the truck, which then took off driving south on Farrington.

A witness who saw what happened found the 65-year-old man who had driven the car to the site where it was broken into and then helped him find a police officer to report the incident.

The two men, ages 24 and 27, were stopped by police a short distance down the highway and arrested for suspicion of unlawful entry into a motor vehicle.
