Shinseki to speak at business luncheon

Retired Gen. Eric Shinseki, former chief of staff of the Army, will be the keynote speaker at the Hawai'i Business "Top 250" luncheon set for Wednesday at the Waikiki Beach Marriott Resort.

Shinseki, a native of Kaua'i, graduated from the U.S. Military Academy and went on to a distinguished 38-year Army career, command of Army and NATO forces in Europe and United Nations troops in Bosnia. He finished as the 34th chief of staff of the Army, the first Japanese-American to lead one of the nation's military services.

The luncheon recognizes the state's leading companies and is sponsored by First Hawaiian Bank, KPMG LLP and Matson Navigation Co. in conjunction with Hawaii Business Magazine.



National attorneys general group taps Hawai'i's Bennett

The National Association of Attorneys General has named Hawai'i Attorney General Mark Bennett as co-chair of the organization's antitrust committee.

The antitrust committee plays a leading role in state and multistate enforcement of antitrust laws, and a leading role in coordinating multistate antitrust litigation.
