  • Hawaiian Host Inc., manufacturer of Hawaiian Host Chocolates, has appointed Joyce Gepitulan to the position of product innovation technician. Her new responsibilities will include assisting in developing and improving chocolate and confectionary products, conducting analysis on new and improved products, and preparing nutritional data on Hawaiian Host products.

    Gepitulan joined the company as product development and quality control assistant in 1997 and was promoted to quality assurance supervisor in 2000.

  • The Na Kilohana O Wahine chapter of the American Business Women's Association has announced its 2005-06 officers and nominee to the woman of the year/top 10 awards.

    President is Mei Ng, accountant at Pomare Ltd.

    Other officers include: president-elect Gloria Kelly, manager-employee services department at Zippy's; vice president Yvonne Ako, vice president and assistant sales manager of Bank of Hawaii; secretary Chassidy Shinno, employment services specialist, University of Hawai'i-Manoa Student Employment & Cooperative Education; treasurer Monique Wedderburn, fellow/administrative assistant, University of Hawai'i East-West Center; woman of the year/top 10 nominee Lee Ann Matsuda, accounting manager, Easter Seals Hawaii.

  • Turtle Bay Resort has announced the promotion of Wendell Tuisaula to director of information technology.

    Tuisaula is a 1994 graduate of Brigham Young University-Hawai'i in La'ie. He joined Turtle Bay Resort in 1996 as the management information specialist manager. He rose to assistant director of finance in 1999, then assistant controller in 2001. He earned his master's in business administration from the University of Hawai'i.

  • Lea Okudara has been promoted to assistant account executive of McNeil Wilson Communications' corporate/public affairs division.

    Previously an account coordinator, she works with a variety of clients, including Polynesian Cultural Center, Architects Hawaii Ltd., Coldwell Banker Pacific Properties and Vanpool Hawaii. She is a graduate of Boston University.

  • Sumithra Balraj was recently appointed senior account executive, travel tourism, at McNeil Wilson Communications Inc. She has joined the account group that manages public relations for Marriott International's 14 hotel and vacation ownership properties in Hawai'i.

    She previously was public relations manager of Turtle Bay Resort. She relocated to Hawai'i from Malaysia.

  • Dr. Susan Fox-Wolfgramm, professor of management at Hawai'i Pacific University, has been elected to the board of the Hawai'i Society of Corporate Planners. She was recently elected to the position of university relations vice president.
