Driver identified in fatal accident

Big Island police yesterday identified the 23-year-old driver of a Honda sedan involved in a head-on crash that killed four people Saturday as Alfredo Flores of Kailua, Kona.

Flores and three passengers in his car died in the crash. The other victims were Jaime Villamil Cortes, 30, Nabor Rosas Hernandez, 33, and a 42-year-old woman whose name has not been released.

The wreck happened at 3:20 a.m. near the 32-mile marker above Kailua. Police said Flores' 1992 Honda sedan was headed south on Route 190 when it crossed the center line and collided with a 2005 International semi-trailer.

The truck driver, Kyle Fujimoto, 50, of Hilo, suffered minor injuries.

COLLEGE FAIR TO BE HELD TODAY

College Connections Hawai'i will host a free college fair at the Ala Wai Golf Course Clubhouse from 5 to 8 p.m. today.

The event will bring representatives from 30 colleges to meet with a few hundred college-bound O'ahu students.

Participating institutions include Michigan, Pepperdine, Gonzaga, Middlebury and the Air Force Academy, as well as O'ahu's local four-year colleges.

KAUA'I

HELP SOUGHT FINDING 2 TEENS

The Kaua'i Police Department is asking for help in finding two missing teenagers.

Jolene Corr, 17, has been missing since she fled Family Court on March 23. She is 5-feet-6 and 150 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes, and a scar over her left eye.

Shawlyn Texeira, 17, was last seen at Kapa'a High School on Aug. 24. She is 4-feet-11 and 110 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes.
