The Japanese Cultural Center of Hawai'i will hold its Celebration of Leadership and Achievement dinner Saturday at the Hilton Hawaiian Village Coral Ballroom.

A silent auction and no-host cocktails begin at 4 p.m. with dinner and a program starting at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are $150, with proceeds going toward the center's mission of educating the community on the Japanese-American experience in Hawai'i.

On Saturday, the center will honor teachers of aikido, karate and judo. They are: Takashi Nonaka, Shinichi Suzuki, Bobby Lowe, James Miyaji, Noboru Akagi, Shigeo Yoshinaga, Albert Aoki and Tsuruo Fukushima.

The center also will honor the Shirokiya store, which the center calls a "corporate icon of Japanese culture."
